Joseph Kennedy Foundation is headquartered in Mwatate, serving the regions and communities around Taita Taveta County. As development takes place, the less fortunate often get left out due to a lack of resources, and in some cases, these problems only become evident when things get to catastrophic levels.
At Joseph Kennedy Foundation, we’ve provided scholarships to orphans through our education support programs, tackled healthcare problems, initiated economic empowerment programs, and supported the less fortunate with our social welfare programs.
Mrs. Makumbo, who is in her 70’s, and blind at the same time, was living in a dilapidated house until members of the community realized the impending disaster that could have befallen her; in addition, she was in dire need of constant care. In collaboration with the community, arrangements were made to restore Mrs. Makumbo’s house with a new roof. A team of dedicated caregivers also visits her regularly to check on her well-being.
Benson graduated from high school in 2021 and was always a top-performing student, and that’s why he was a perfect candidate for our scholarship program granted to brilliant students coming from families with financial challenges.
